DIRECTOR OF WELLNESS
M.A., Clinical Psychology
and B.A. Communications, University of San Francisco
Mercy alumna, 1995.
Yen started her career in marketing and promotions at San Francisco Magazine. While there for six years, she enjoyed supporting the brand through sponsorships and event planning. Taking that creative experience, Yen started a business in design and furnishings for 10 years. Although she enjoyed being a creative entrepreneur, she finally responded to her true calling and became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She now has more than 15 years of professional experience working as a school therapist, classroom instructor, and mental health therapist in private practice.
Yen spent 5 years working in elementary and high schools providing 1:1 therapy, facilitating social skills groups, and leading psycho-educational workshops for parents. Following this, Yen worked at Easter Seals Bay Area with children, teens, and young adults with Autism. Yen spends her days at Mercy supporting students and staff in anything mental health related, including 1:1 check-ins and wellness programming. Whenever possible, Yen makes her way into the classroom to provide psycho-educational lessons to the students. When not working, she and her family enjoy board games, cooking and baking, and rooting for the Golden State Warriors!
