Dear Mercy Community,
The Board of Trustees has nominated Sister Carolyn Krohn, RSM to serve as Interim Head of School for Mercy High School, San Francisco. Mercy Education System of the Americas (MESA), which is our school’s governing arm of the Sisters of Mercy, has approved this appointment for the 2018-2019 school year.
As you know, Sister Carolyn has actively been leading the school over the past six weeks, and she is looking forward to continuing to serve our school and its mission.
Natalie Cirigliano, who has served as Board Vice-Chair since 2016, will assume leadership of the Boarduntil a new Board Chair is elected.
About Sister Carolyn Krohn, RSM
An alumna of Mercy High School, San Francisco (Class of ‘65), Sister Carolyn knows first-hand how our school prepared her for excellent educational opportunities as she earned degrees at UC Berkeley, as well as at Harvard and Stanford Universities.
As a Sister of Mercy for 49 years, Sister Carolyn has been an educator for 44 years. She has taught at Mercy High School, Burlingame; Saint Mary’s College; and several San Francisco elementary schools. For five years, she was a member of the Regional Leadership Team of the Sisters of Mercy and served as the community’s liaison to Mercy-sponsored schools.
Most important, though, Sister Carolyn loves Mercy High School, San Francisco. She values the transformative power of education. She is committed to helping Mercy High School thrive and be recognized for excellence.
