Women in Science & Healthcare (WISH)
Established in partnership with St. Mary’s Medical Center, the WISH Program affords students the opportunity to explore career paths in various healthcare professions. Students engage in clinical immersion experiences while taking honors and Advanced Placement courses in math and science. Students begin the program participating in a year-long clinical experience at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Throughout their years at Mercy, students benefit from intensive pre-health career advisement, and opportunities to share their developing knowledge of public health issues with the community.

WiTECH provides students with experiences and preparation to enter into STEAM related disciplines in college. Focusing on the impact of technology on our world, WiTECH students develop technology-based skills including digital and media production, programming and coding, network development, web design, Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), mobile app creation, design with 3-D printers, and robotics. Students begin the program with a week-long workshop during the summer.
WiTECH provides students with experiences and preparation to enter into STEAM related disciplines in college. WIPA provides students the opportunity to develop skills and talents in the areas of dance, theatre, production management, and stage and technical design. In partnership with San Francisco and Bay Area theatre and dance companies, students further cultivate their craft through master classes and participation in three major school productions. Students begin their exploration of the performing arts through the completion of a summer workshop prior to starting 9th grade.

Classroom and studio learning is complemented with demonstrations by mentor artists, outside learning experiences, and apprenticeships with local visual artists. Students begin their study with a two-week advanced summer workshop prior to their 9th grade year.
