Marianne spent many years as a religious studies faculty member at Notre Dame de Namur University. She also ran the philosophy and religious studies department and served in other positions, among them chair of the Faculty Union and the Faculty Development Committee.
Her professional interests are focused on professional development, mentoring and maternity studies.
She has presented and published on all of these subjects. Most recently she co-authored a piece for the Wabash Journal on teaching meta-literacy in the religious studies classroom with a librarian from Skyline College.
She has also collaborated with experts from various fields on an edited volume entitled Love is Weary.
