Counseling at Mercy
What We Do
The two academic counselors provide ongoing academic guidance, resources, and support to Mercy students, empowering them to thrive in their classes and co-curricular activities.
They support students by monitoring their academic progress, choosing appropriate courses, making referrals to tutors and other support staff, facilitating parent/teacher/student conferences, making diagnostic testing referrals, and coordinating and collaborating with teachers and other staff members.
The counselors coordinate college representative visits to Mercy, meet individually with students to assist them with researching and developing a college application list, and maintain up-to-date informational materials and resources.
Mercy utilizes SCOIR, giving both students and parents the opportunity to navigate the college and career exploration process online. Families are encouraged to contact the College Counselor for information and advice.
