Dolce

We meet every Tuesday in Rist Hall, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come to a meeting and see if you want to join. We perform in the Winter Pops Concert and the Visual and Performing Arts Concert in May. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Music Director, Mrs. Laura Flaviania at .

Dolce: A musical term meaning that the performer should sing or play sweetly is a perfect description for the many styles of music both secular and sacred that will be performed by this ensemble.

Dolce provides an opportunity for students to develop their musical potential and aesthetic understanding through singing and/or playing an instrument in an ensemble.

Dolce performs many different styles of music as well as leads the student body as the Music Ministry choir for the school liturgical celebrations.  Students participating in this music ensemble learn responsible rehearsal habits as well as the polishing of performance skills.  There are performances both on and off campus this is the music ensemble that represents Mercy High School at various events.

The ensemble performs jazz, classical, and popular/contemporary music as well as music from Broadway musicals and other styles and genre.

Each rehearsal is spent learning the music as well as developing the student’s knowledge of the expressive qualities of music, increasing aural awareness, encouraging musical responsiveness and developing the skills necessary to become capable performers by promoting and understanding the nature and structure of music.

Outfit- Dolce members need to purchase their dress.  The fee for the dress is $46.  The dress belongs to the Dolce member.  If for some reason over the course of being in Dolce that a member needs a different size, the dress can be exchanged for another size at no cost.
