We are a Club B

Join us every other Thursday  in the art room

on the fourth floor

The Club is moderated by Pauline Scoot, art teacher.

Anime (アニメ) is an abbreviation of the English word "animation," originating in Japan through the roots of manga. Anime has become very popular in the United States.

Anime Club welcomes ANYONE who enjoys drawing, playing video games, reading manga, and wanting to have fun. You don't need to be an expert in anything, just come and be yourself.

In the Anime Club, experienced student artists will show club members how to create and draw their own anime characters and storyline and put together an Anime illustrated "comic."

Another activity we do each year is to make greeting cards and bookmarks to sell at Mercy's Holiday Boutique to raise money for the club and for charities.

Once a month we hold jeopardy style Anime quizzes where students compete for fun in groups. Club members also watch selected videos and DVDs of different types of Anime, which range from comedies to action heroes and heroines. Student will also learn about Japanese culture and take occasional field trips to places in San Francisco such as the Cartoon Art Museum, Japantown, and the Sakura Cherry Blossom Festival.
