Amnesty International is an organization helping in the world struggle for human rights for all.  Members of Amnesty International advocate human rights by participating in letter-writing campaigns.

We send letters, telegrams, e-mails, and faxes to government authorities about victims of torture, ill-treatment, death threats, forced repatriation, capital punishment, "disappearance," denial of legal counsel, mass arrests, extra-judicial execution, untreated health problems, unacknowledged detention, and deaths in detention.

The Mercy Chapter of Amnesty International is led by Mrs. Petrini.  We are trying to better the world by starting small in our Mercy community.

OUR MISSION

As Members of Amnesty International, our goals for the 2006-2007 school year are: to expose not only ourselves, but the entire Circle of Mercy, to the worldwide issues concerning violations of human rights; to create opportunities for everyone to help those in need; to recognize the luxuries we have and not take them for granted; and most of all, to make a difference in our world.  After all, a little can do a lot.
