Alumnae Council

The Alumnae Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month, except for the month of December and the summer months, at 6:00pm in Mercy's 4th Floor Conference Room. We discuss and plan alumnae events, and we support Mercy students with an Alumnae Scholarship, which we fund through various fund raising activities. We would love to see you there! 2008-2009 Alumnae Council Calendar of Events

 

Mercy Alumnae have been very generous and have allowed the Alumnae Council to do so much for the Mercy students.  We are proud of our Mercy community and what we have been able to give back to the school.

 

Because of the generosity of Mercy Alumnae, the Council presented the following awards and scholarships for the 2008-2009 school year:

 

•  The “Alumna of the Year” award was presented to Nilsa Lennig, ‘98.  The Council donated $500 in her name to Mercy’s Endowment.

 

• The Alumnae Council awarded eight “Rising Senior” scholarships.  Four scholarships, each equaling a portion of the current tuition, were presented to rising seniors:  Edith Chow, Maryanne Connell, Virginia Garrett and Georgia Wasley.  Four scholarships covering book rental fees, were awarded to rising seniors:  Jessica Meyer, Stacey Nordman, Jennifer Lima and Jessica Truong.  Funding for the “Rising Senior” scholarships come from donations made by our Alumnae along with the proceeds from the Eggstravaganza.

 

• Four “Daughters of Mercy Alumnae” scholarships were awarded to Jessica Meyer, Celina Al-Afsour, Stacey Nordman and Arieanna Anies.  The “Daughters of Mercy Alumnae” scholarships are funded by Endowment Fund interest.
