Academics

WASC Accreditation

Mercy High School has been accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 2004, we were accredited for six years, and our next review will come in 2010. Publication of our achievements over the span of six years is documented through our website.

The school-wide Expected Student Learning Results (ESLR's) were developed in a series of workshops in the spring of 1997. They were updated in 2004 to include our educational goals for the new millennium. Students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and board members all participated in the process, and reached a consensus around a set of learning expectations which are universal and relevant to the student community.

Inherent in the school's philosophy, which drives the ESLR's, are the Mercy values of intellectual and personal integrity and responsible decision-making, the development of self-esteem, respect for all forms of life and the preservation of the goods of the earth for the enjoyment of future generations, and a genuine regard for ethnic diversity.
