Objective: To present the material necessary for understanding and mastery learning of the major vertebrate body systems. |

NOTE: This project counts as 50% of your 2nd semester Final Exam Grade. Each group is responsible for the following and will be graded on each part as indicated. [65 points total] |

1. CLASS PRESENTATION [30 points] Class presentation of the material to be covered, using overheads, lecture, worksheets, homework questions, group discussion, etc. This presentation should take 1 hour. You will be graded on your use of overhead transparencies and visuals, covering the appropriate content, and equal participation from all members in the presentation. 2. HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT [10 points] Your group must assign an appropriate homework assignment that is due the day of your presentation. The length of the assignment should be comparable to our regular homework assignments. You must incorporate the homework assignment into your class presentation (have students refer to a coloring worksheet, ask them review questions from their notes, etc.). Any handouts that need to be copied must be given to Mrs. Howett ONE day before it is to be assigned. 3. OUTLINE [10 points] An outline of the material presented for students to take notes on, to be photocopied by Mrs. Howett for class distribution. The outline MUST be checked by Mrs. Howett TWO days in advance of your presentation and revised if necessary before distribution to the class (revisions must be submitted one day on advance). 4. BIBLIOGRAPHY [5 points] The Bibliography will include any book, article or websites used to prepare the presentation. You should consult at least three books in addition to your text. Format for bibliography: Author, year. Title of book. Publishing information, page numbers. 5. JOB DESCRIPTIONS [2 points] Description of what each member of the group did on the project. 6. TEST QUESTIONS [8 points] A set of test items consisting of 5 multiple choice questions and one essay (1-3 paragraph answer) question. An answer key must be submitted as well as a grading rubric for the essay. The test questions must be e-mailed to Mrs. Howett as a Word document. |
