Welcome to the Mercy “SPA” – the Summer Prep Academy! Mercy’s Summer Prep Academy offers a variety of courses for students of different ages. Our comprehensive offerings include academic and non-academic courses. Registration for the Summer Prep Academy opens on February 1, 2010. Students from all Bay Area schools are welcome to attend. Summer High
Summer High offers courses for 9th – 12th graders who wish to make-up, review, or preview a regular high school academic course. As well, this program offers driver’s education, dance, ecology, cooking, and photography courses.
Summer Online
Summer Online courses are offered in collaboration with the Network for Mercy Education. Five units of credit are awarded for each online course.

Summer Rise
Summer Rise is a unique summer program designed for rising ninth graders. Preparatory course work for students entering high school in the fall of 2010 integrates topics in math (math fundamentals, pre-Algebra, Algebra); English (spelling, vocabulary, grammar, writing, reading comprehension); and Study Skills. Students will gain effective note-taking, time management, test preparation skills and learn helpful strategies for academic success.
Summer Kids
Summer Kids presents a theme based curriculum meant to offer enrichment opportunities for students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2010. Program topics/elements include: history, science, literature, math, social science, performing arts, physical education, and weekly off-campus adventures. This program is not designed for remediation.
Skipper Summer Camp
Skipper Summer Camp is a three week program for girls entering 1st through 5th grades. The camp is designed to teach young girls the importance of a positive self image and attitude as well as the value of friendship through art, cooking, singing, dancing and much more. Skipper Summer Camp runs from June 14 – July 2, 2010.

Summer Art
Summer Art workshops are open to students enrolled in Advanced Placement Studio Art courses for the 2010 – 2011 school year and students accepted to Mercy’s Women in the Arts program.

Summer Cooking
Summer Cooking is an ideal culinary experience for the aspiring teen chef in your family. Students will learn food preparation techniques as the focus of this hands-on class. The class will consist of brief lectures/demonstrations, preparing, cooking and enjoying the meals. Instruction will also include kitchen safety and sanitation. Cooking classes will be taught on Mercy’s campus in the fourth floor kitchen.

Summer Photography
Summer Photography explores the artistic medium of digital photography. Students will learn to enhance images through the use of software.

Summer Dance
Summer Dance is designed for beginner/advanced beginner dance students. The program offers four dance disciplines. Classes meet Monday through Thursday (no dance classes on Fridays).

Summer Ecology
Summer Ecology offers a hands-on ecological, outdoor learning experience for students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2010. This two week program provides a greater understanding of the San Francisco Bay bioregion. Through various activities designed to highlight local geography, geology and native cultures, this is a great opportunity to explore our world in a classroom without walls. This program is not designed for remediation.

Sports Camps
We offer fun and instructional camps for Basketball and Volleyball during the summer. The camps are run by the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Volleyball coaching staffs. Both camps are held on campus in our beautiful Catherine McAuley Pavillion.
The Basketball Camp has two sessions. Session I is open to girls entering the 4th through 8th grades and is held from July 12th - July 16th. Session II is open to girls entering the 8th and 9th grades and is held from July 19th - July 23rd. Deadline to register is June 4th!
The Volleyball Camp is open to girls entering the 4th though 10th grades and is held July 5th - July 9th. Deadline to register is June 18th!
